PDR (Process Decision Record)

Records a lasting decision about the process: options, criteria, decision, consequences and sign-off.

When to use it

Section titled “When to use it”

Whenever a hard-to-reverse decision is made (the To-Be option, a control change, a technology).

It’s working if

  • If the decision isn’t made yet, it says ‘Pending’ with the recommendation.
  • If a control is weakened, the accepted risk and Risk’s sign-off are recorded.
  • It states which artifacts or decisions it unblocks.
